Sperm & semen · In plain English

Semen volume

The amount of semen in the collected sample, usually reported in millilitres. It is different from sperm concentration or total sperm count.

Also searched as: ejaculate volume, low semen volume

Why you might see this term

Volume contributes to calculating the total number of sperm. Missing part of the collection can affect the result, so tell the laboratory if any was lost.

What to keep in mind

A small sample does not automatically mean low testosterone or infertility. The whole report and collection history are needed.
