Egg quality

A broad way of describing an egg’s potential to support fertilisation and development into an embryo and, eventually, a baby.

Why you might see this term

Age is an important part of the discussion, but no simple at-home blood test can directly measure the quality of every egg.

What to keep in mind

AMH and antral follicle count concern egg quantity and treatment response, not a direct egg-quality score.
