Ovarian reserve

The concept of the remaining egg supply. Tests such as AMH and antral follicle count give indirect information rather than an exact count.

Also searched as: egg reserve, egg count, diminished ovarian reserve

Why you might see this term

The main clinical value is helping anticipate how the ovaries may respond to fertility-treatment stimulation.

What to keep in mind

Reduced reserve does not mean natural pregnancy is impossible. Reserve is different from egg quality and should be discussed alongside age and your plans.
