Unexplained infertility

A term used when a standard fertility assessment has not identified an explanation for difficulty conceiving. It does not mean that the experience is imagined.

Also searched as: normal tests but not pregnant

Why you might see this term

The assessment usually considers ovulation, the reproductive tract and semen, where relevant. Discuss which investigations have actually been completed.

What to keep in mind

Normal initial tests do not check every possible factor. An individual review can help decide whether further assessment or a different plan would be useful.
