Two-week wait (TWW)

An informal description of the time between ovulation or fertility treatment and the recommended pregnancy test date. It is not always exactly two weeks.

Also searched as: 2WW, TWW

Why you might see this term

During treatment, use the test date supplied by your clinic. In an unassisted cycle, testing around a missed period is generally more informative than repeatedly testing early.

What to keep in mind

Symptoms during the wait overlap with premenstrual symptoms and medication effects. They cannot reliably confirm whether treatment or conception has worked.
